James Early is BACK for the 2009 - 2010 season, his sixth year!  James has brought a passion and dedication to the job and has taken the choir to new heights. We joyfully welcome James back for yet another year as Director of Joyful Voices. 

James is a talented musician and teacher.  A graduate of the New England Conservatory, James has dedicated his life to both education and his music ministry.  James has taught math in the Boston Public Schools for over twenty years.

A well known figure in the Boston gospel music community, James also directs the New England Gospel Ensemble and is actively involved in producing The New England Conservatory’s annual Thomas A. Dorsey Gospel Jubilee held in February.

The choir released their CD titled JOYFUL! in July of 2007.  The CD contains 12 tracks of the choir performed live in concert in June of 2007.  CDs are available for $15.00 including tax and shipping.  Audio clips of many of the tracks on the CD are available on the

There are now 35 or so active members in the choir...up from about 22 last April year.  It's great to have the choir growing and so vibrant, and new voices are a wonderful addition.  We even have a new BASS section in addition to sopranos, altos and tenors.  The choir is open to ALL.  Come join us if you'd like to be a part of this wonderful choir.
