Puerto Rico was wonderful!!
The choir spent a great week in Puerto Rico seeing the sights, soaking up lots of sun and singing. We performed at the VA Hospital in San Juan that just opened a beautiful new wing. The hospital facilities are lovely, the people who work there loving, dedicated and devoted, and the patients are wonderfully cared for. We also performed for a small but spirited church, the Isla Verte Baptist Church. The congregation was so kind and hospitable to us. We had great time!

Our website has been updated with a new look which we think is fresher and easier to read. Behind the scenes, the entire website has be rewritten to conform to web standards to make it easier to maintain going forward.

James Early is BACK for the 2009 - 2010 season, his sixth year!
James has brought a passion and dedication to the job and has taken the choir to new heights. We joyfully welcome James back for yet another year as Director of Joyful Voices.
James is a talented musician and teacher. A graduate of the New England Conservatory, James has dedicated his life to both education and his music ministry. James has taught math in the Boston Public Schools for over twenty years.
A well known figure in the Boston gospel music community, James also directs the New England Gospel Ensemble and is actively involved in producing The New England Conservatory’s annual Thomas A. Dorsey Gospel Jubilee held in February.
The choir released their CD titled JOYFUL! in July of 2007. The CD contains 12 tracks of the choir performed live in concert in June of 2007. CDs are available for $15.00 including tax and shipping. Audio clips of many of the tracks on the CD are available on the Hear Us Sing page.

JVOI continues to grow! As of Fall 2010 there are now more than 40 active members in the choir! It is great to have the choir growing and so vibrant, and the new voices are a wonderful addition. We even have a BASS section in addition to sopranos, altos and tenors. The choir is open to ALL. Come join us if you'd like to be a part of this wonderful choir.
