From traditional to contemporary black gospel,
Joyful Voices of Inspiration sings it all with heart and soul!

Joyful Voices of Inspiration is a choir that LOVES to sing gospel music. Our 30+ singers have come to understand that black gospel music is both a powerful inspirational medium and a uniquely Afo-American art form. The choir enjoys nothing more than sharing their inspiring gospel music with others.

The choir is not aligned with any faith or denomination, but represents people from a wide range of religious and ethnic backgrounds who find joy and power in the music and the message of gospel. Choir members range in age from 30 to 70+ years. The group strives to be a family that supports and respects all member and embraces people of all races, creeds, and classes, as it aspires to serve as a model of harmony.

Joyful Voices of Inspiration was originally formed in the Spring of 1999 in response to an invitation to perform gospel in Italy. The original group found that their gospel music and their message was enthusiastically received. Upon returning from that first tour of Italy, the group was incorporated as a non-profit organization and articulated its mission to promote the appreciation of black gospel music and interracial harmony throughout the world. Over the years, singers have included high school and college students, as well as adults and seniors from a variety of Greater Boston towns and suburbs.

The choir considers itself a “traveling choir” first and foremost and goes on a singing tour every summer. To date the choir has visited Italy, France, Ireland, Holland, Maine, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, New Hampshire, Cape Cod, Brazil, Costa Rica, Uraguay, Argentina, Barcelona Spain, Germany, Greece, and Portugal.

Joyful Voices of Inspiration frequently donates their services at civic and fund raising events in the Boston area.
